The Hyundai Seoul is the largest store opened by Hyundai Department Store Group to celebrate its 50th anniversary, and is part of a mixed-use complex that brings business, shopping, and leisure together under one roof. It is designed as a place where people can walk through an ecosystem where living, breathing forests and water interact with people and change every moment, adding new thoughts to their daily routine, including indoor nature spaces, Sounds Forest, and Waterfall Garden, created through the harmony of technology and nature.

The building was designed by world-renowned architect Richard Rogers, who is known for his preference for exposing the structure and facilities of a building to the outside world, and The Hyundai Seoul’s exterior reflects his architectural philosophy, with a half-exposed facade and red steel accents in keeping with the concept of Park One in Yeouido.

The interior design was overseen by Kim Do-yoon, head of the interior team at Hyundai Department Store, and involved design offices from various countries, with different concepts for each floor.

The Hyundai Seoul offers a day filled with the empathetic language of art, from works by world-renowned masters to cultural interaction, and sets a new standard for shopping, from convenient unmanned stores to self-driving quarantine robots and touchless elevators. In addition, it provides a convenient and safe shopping environment utilizing the latest technology through unmanned stores such as the ‘UnCommon Store’ created with Amazon AWS.
